Found: 200 big figure scholarships in Texas
Database now available!
We at Scholarship Prep are excited and pleased to announce the
opening of a sister website: BigFigureScholarships.com.
The site offers access to a database full of scholarships in a list
which you can sort by ACT score, GPA, or type of scholarship (academic,
music, etc.)
Comments from Ginia:
I've spent much of my time over the last 5 weeks visiting the websites
of the 99 colleges and universities spread across the great state
of Texas. There is quite a range of tuition at these schools. The
state universities seem to do a good job at keeping tuition costs
down. And at some of these schools, exceptionally prepared students
may receive tuition reductions up to the entire cost of tuition.
Some offer room and board, books, and/or a stipend as well.
Still, there are great advantages to attending a private college,
especially if you are looking for a particular religious bent to
your student's education or if you want a small class size. (See
my comments on the advantages we discovered through the private
college experience.)
What we found in Texas:
Many of Texas's colleges offer no scholarships. Many others offer
small amounts. But what we were looking for specifically were the
large figures. I expect you may be looking for the same. So our
criteria at Big Figure Scholarships were to find and list scholarships
that offer $5,000 or more. And find them we did - 200 big ones,
in fact! Even better, most of these offer their big sums ($5,000
- or more) for EACH year of study at the college. Some even extend
their offer for up to five years.
Full Access for members of Scholarship Prep
For members of Scholarship Prep, you may access the Big Figure
Scholarships database by entering the same user name and password
that you use here at Scholarship Prep.
You may access the database easily from this site by clicking on
the navigation button (upper left of this page) called "Scholarship
Listings."
We will soon be adding scholarship listings for the colleges in
the states of Ohio, Michigan, and Florida.
Because the Big Figure Scholarships database is brand new, I'd
like to consider the next few weeks as a beta test time. If you
find errors or have difficulty getting around the site, please do
contact us (by form on that site) to let us know any problems you
are having or suggestions you may have.
Open Beta Testing for all
Also, for those who are not currently members of Scholarship Prep,
I invite you to become a Beta Tester for the next 2-3 weeks. Sign
up at Big Figure
Scholarships, and we will email you a temporary password. You'll
be able to access the entire Texas list of scholarships. All we
ask is that you let us know if you have any difficulties are problems,
so that we can fix them before we do an entire roll-out of the site.
